Htr-5790: after power on, returns to standby, no shorts... all speakers ok, can get it to operate with bypass (a/b/c/d/e, tune+, pwr.button) all features then work, exc. display in diagnostic mode, full power volume; Please advise me which component on the circuit board needs replacement (capacitor, diode, resistor?) and location of board in unit (I have top cover off). Thank you, -RC

I am having power issure with my Yamaha HTR-5940. I have no inputs or speaker wire connected and I got a "check wire" error at first now it jsut makes a "click" sound with no display while powering on. You are the ONLY person that I have seen with any actual service/repair details on these. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
I fix all modern game consoles (PS3, Wii, XBOX 360) and flat screen tv's but have never tried receviers before. I bought a pallet of receivers and about half worked, so I have replacement parts, just needing help in troubleshooting the boards in detail and so on. I would even paypal you a $ gift for your help with these. Knowledge is priceless!
